Teacher Training Program in Dutch Language and Culture at the Faculty of Humanities (BTK) of ELTE
The undivided teacher training program in Dutch Language and Culture offered at the Faculty of Humanities (BTK) of ELTE provides a unique opportunity for those who wish to acquire a high level of proficiency in Dutch and gain in-depth knowledge of the culture, literature, and history of the Netherlands and Belgium.
During the program, with the support of native-speaking instructors, you will learn Dutch and explore the society, arts, economy, and education systems of both Flanders and the Netherlands.
The practical and methodological training ensures that graduates are well-prepared and confident to teach their future students. Students also have the opportunity to gain experience in a native language environment in the Netherlands or Belgium through Erasmus and other scholarship programs.
About Admission

Subject Combination: In the undivided teacher training program, students must choose two subjects, one of which can be the specialization in Dutch Language and Culture.

Application: Applications are submitted electronically through the felvi.hu system, typically by February 15.

Practical/aptitude exam: For the Dutch teacher training program, there is no separate practical or aptitude exam as part of the admission process.

Language skills: Knowledge of Dutch is not a prerequisite for applying; instruction begins from the beginner level.
Duration and Structure of the Program
The undivided teacher training program lasts 10 semesters (5+1 years), with the final year dedicated to teaching practice.
During the course of their studies, students will obtain a teaching qualification in both of their chosen subjects (subject combination).
